Instagram က ဆယ်ကျော်သက်တွေအား အန္တရာယ် ရှိတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရာတွေ( harmful content )မှ အဝေးမှာ နေစေဖို့ platform ပေါ်မှ “take a break,” feature က သူတို့ကို အားပေး ပါလိမ့်မယ်ဟု ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာရေးရာ Facebook ၏ ဒုတိယ ဥက္ကဌ ( Facebook vice president of global affairs ) Nick Clegg က တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့တွင် ပြောကြားခဲ့ ပါတယ်။ သတင်းပေးသူ( whistleblower ) Frances Haugen က Instagram ဟာ လူငယ်များ၏ စိတ်ကျန်းမာရေး ( mental health ) ကို အပျက်သဘော ( negative effect ) သက်ရောက် စေနိုင်ကြောင်း ပြသတဲ့ internal research နှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ Congress ရှေ့တွင် သက်သေ ထွက်ဆိုပြီးနောက် တစ်ပတ် မပြည့်ခင်မှာ CNN ၏ State of Union တွင် မှတ်ချက် ပေးခဲ့ ပါတယ်။

“We’re going to introduce something which I think will make a considerable difference, which is where our systems see that a teenagers is looking at the same content over and over again, and it’s content which may not be conducive to their well being, we will nudge them to look at other content,” ဟု Clegg ပြောဆို ထားပါတယ်။သူက ဆက်ပြောသည်မှာ Instagram Kids platform အတွက် အစီအစဉ်များကို ခဏရပ်ဖို့ နှင့် ဆယ်ကျော်သက်များအား ကြီးကြပ်ဖို့ မိဘများအား စိတ်ကြိုက် ရွေးချယ်ခွင့်များ ပေးခြင်းအပြင် ကုမ္ပဏီက “called ‘take a break,’ where we will be prompting teens to just simply take a break from using Instagram.” feature တစ်ခု မိတ်ဆက်ဖို့ စီစဉ်ခဲ့ ပါတယ်။

We announced last week that we’re exploring two new ideas: encouraging people to look at other topics if they’re dwelling on content that might contribute to negative social comparison, and a feature tentatively called “Take a Break,” where people could put their account on pause and take a moment to consider whether the time they’re spending is meaningful.

January 6 ရက်က US Capitol building တွင် riot တစ်ခု မတိုင်မီ Facebook ၏ Algorithm ကို ချဲ့ထွင်ခြင်း (သို့မဟုတ်) pro-insurrection voices တွေ ဖြန့်ကြက်ခြင်း ရှိမရှိ CNN သတင်းဌာန host Dana Bash က Clegg အား မေးမြန်း ခဲ့ပါတယ်။Clegg က သူဟာ ဒီမေးခွန်းကို ဟုတ်/မဟုတ် အဖြေ မပေးနိုင်ဘူးလို့ ပြောပါတယ်။Haugen က January 6th attack နှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ စုံစမ်း စစ်ဆေးရေး ကော်မတီ နှင့် တွေ့ဆုံလိမ့်မည်ဟု သတင်းတွေ ထွက်ပေါ် နေပါတယ်။ Clegg က Facebook’s algorithms တွေကို “should be held to account, if necessary, by regulation so that people can match what our systems say they’re supposed to do from what actually happens.” လို့ ပြောဆိုခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Haugen ပေးခဲ့တဲ့ ပြည်တွင်းရေး မှတ်တမ်းများ (internal documents) ကို အခြေခံ၍ Wall Street Journal မှ report အရ Facebook က လွန်ခဲ့သော သီတင်းပတ် များစွာက ပြင်းထန်သော ဝေဖန်မှုကို ခံနေရပါတယ်။ Facebook မှ former product manager Haugen ဟာ အင်္ဂါနေ့က Congress ရှေ့တွင် သက်သေထွက်ဆိုခဲ့ပြီး ကုမ္ပဏီ၏ internal research ကို အထူးသဖြင့် ဆယ်ကျော်သက် မိန်းကလေးများအား အဆိပ်အတောက် ဖြစ်စေနိုင်ကြောင်း Instagram က ပြသ ထားပါတယ်။

Facebook ရဲ့ CEO Mark Zuckerberg က Haugen ရဲ့ account ကို အငြင်းပွားခဲ့ပြီး ၎င်းဟာ လူများအား ဒေါသထွက်စေတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရာတွေ အားတွန်းအားပေးဖို့ advertisers တွေကို မှီခိုနေတဲ့ ကုမ္ပဏီအတွက် ဒါဟာ ယုတ္တိမရှိဘူး လို့ ပြောကြားခဲ့ ပါတယ်။
